How to find us

Embassy building in Tina Ujevica 8 is located mid-way between German and Austrian embassies in Sarajevo, and can be approached from either direction, or upstairs from 'Sloga' youth club, behind the Central Bank building.

Embassy building in Petrakijina 11, where Visa, Consular, UKTI and DFID sections are situated, is located immediately behind the devastated building of former 1984 Olympics Museum, and can be approached following the street from Sarajevo Music Academy, or upstairs from behind Markale green market.

Disabled access

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office and this Embassy are keen to ensure that their buildings and services are fully accessible to disabled members of the public. Wherever possible, we have made our buildings and services accessible.

However, some disabled visitors might find that access to either of our two Embassy buildings in Sarajevo is difficult as they are located in two old residential buildings that are difficult to adapt. We will endeavour seek to provide a service or access to a building in an alternative way to ensure equality of access for disabled people. To assist disabled visitors, we have set out below details of disabled access at this Embassy.

General physical access

  • Entrances: special arrangements can be made to meet disabled visitors at the entrance;
  • Steps and staircases all have handrails;
  • Toilets: on all floors but with limited access for wheelchair-users;
  • Parking: spaces can be made available outside our buildings by prior arrangement. Transfer space for wheelchairs can also be arranged;
  • Floor coverings: inside buildings mostly safe and even although there is some marble flooring that can be slippery, especially when wet;
  • Doors: supervised by Embassy staff and are easily accessible although of restricted width;
  • Lighting: whether there is good lighting or not;
  • Emergency/evacuation: staff available to assist disabled visitors in case of emergency/evacuation;
  • Phones: suitable accessible in public areas for wheelchair users.

Access for visually-impaired visitors

  • Guide dogs: are welcome in Embassy buildings.

Access for Deaf/hard of hearing visitors

  • Hearing loops: not installed;
  • Minicom and textphones: not installed;
  • Sign language: we do not currently have any staff familiar with sign language;
  • Interpretation: signing interpretation not available;
  • Hearing dogs: are welcome in Embassy buildings.
